Richard Gearhart, Founding Partner of Gearhart Law, interviewed David VanEgmond, Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy at FanDuel, at New Jersey Tech Council’s 22nd Annual Venture Conference. Gearhart Law was the signature sponsor of the event, which took place at NJIT in the Wellness and Events Center, a beautiful building opened in late 2017 with a stunning 52 foot high glass wall and excellent facilities for events.
Dave and Richard discussed how FanDuel grew so rapidly; Dave gave credit to an aggressive marketing campaign involving many different media platforms, as well as the quality of the app.
The conference showcased 45+ entrepreneurs who gave 90 second pitches to an engaged audience. Attendance was estimated at over 600 people, including investors, entrepreneurs and service providers.
Gearhart Law client WearWorks, founded by Keith Kirkland, Kevin Yoo and Yangyang Wang, won awards in two categories at the pitch competition for their wearable devices for the visually impaired. Their vision from their website: “We believe that everyone deserves to live an independent life. Through our accessories and haptic language, we empower blind and visually impaired users to safely and intuitively navigate to any destination.” Congratulations WearWorks!
Other Gearhart Law clients won the opportunity to pitch in the competition,
including Pochette, LLC, founded by Lori Sexton, and Pullup Technologies, founded by Vivek
Kumar. Congratulations to all of our
clients who pitched!
